Special matches can include a variety of names such as basket, box, diamond, weave, sunburst and reverse diamond, reverse box and checkerboard match. There are no standardized names for matches, and Sieling and Jones recommends that the design professional include both names and drawings for the match to be sure the desired effect is achieved. In matching of sketch faces, the layout follows a sketch or design. These include inlays of various woods, borders, frames, imitations of stiles and rails and curved inlay shapes.
